Dhal Egg Curry

Have you ever eaten your dhal curry with boiled eggs? Here is a delicious way of cooking our all-time favorite dhal curry.


  • Boiled Eggs – 04
  • Dhal – 150g
  • Big Onion – 01
  • Garlic Cloves – 05
  • Curry Leaves
  • Green Chilies – 02
  • Chili Powder – 02 tsp
  • Curry Powder – 02 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Turmeric Powder – 01 tsp
  • Dried Red Chilies – 02
  • Coconut Oil – 02 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Fenugreek – ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon
  • Water
  • How to cook:

  • Put washed dhal into a pan and add onions, garlic, curry leaves and green chilies. When you add onions and garlic, reserve littlebit from them to use later.
  • Then add chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, curry powder and fenugreek.
  • Add enough water to boil dhal and cook the curry.
  • When dhal is boiled enough, get it out of the stove.
  • Mix boiled eggs with littlebit of turmic.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry eggs around 2-3 mins. Get eggs out of the stove and add mustrad seeds into this oil.
  • When mustard seeds are popping add cinnamon, curry leaves, garlic, dried chilies and onions. Fry them a bit and add cooked dhal into this.
  • Make a small cut in the eggs and add to the dhal curry. Make sure eggs are not separated.
  • After adding eggs cook more around 2-3 mins.
